The Call - Feature Documentary (2025)

An unflinching look at the hidden mental health crisis among firefighters, The Call reveals the trauma behind the heroism—and the hope that emerges when silence is broken.
The Call follows firefighters and first responders as they confront the unseen emotional toll of their profession while exploring growing efforts to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and suicide prevention.
Beyond the Screen
The release of The Call extended far beyond the screen. I moderated the community panel discussion at the Albuquerque premiere, delivered the opening welcome and closing remarks, and represented the film through television, radio, and print interviews throughout its release.
Internationally, The Call has been recognized at multiple film festivals, including two honors from the World Film Festival in Cannes. I was honored to receive Best Female Director for my work on the film and later returned to the festival to accept the Best Health Film award, where I delivered the film's acceptance speech.
The film has also received additional international recognition for directing, producing, editing, and documentary filmmaking, reflecting both the creative vision behind the project and its impact with audiences around the world.
Crisis in Harvey - Chicago Tribune Story (2014)

Created while I was a video producer at the Chicago Tribune, Crisis in Harvey tells the story of a community grappling with decades of economic decline and neglected public services. Through intimate interviews with longtime residents, the film documents both the hardships facing Harvey, Illinois and the enduring hope that meaningful change remains possible.
Un Techo Para Meylin - Short Documentary (2012)

Filmed in León, Nicaragua, Un Techo Para Meylin documents the work of TECHO, an organization helping families transition from makeshift shelters to safe, permanent homes. As cinematographer, I worked with the team to capture the stories of residents whose resilience and hope underscored the importance of housing as a foundation for opportunity and self-reliance.
The film was an Official Selection of the Chicago International Social Change Film Festival (2013), where I participated in a filmmaker panel discussion.
